Who is the course designed for?

For those who are Professional Users e.g. those who anticipate seeking contractual work in professional forestry, amenity or utility arboricultural activities and ground works.

Course description

This course is a 5 day course and has been designed for those who require training using rope and harness and Prusik systems.

Training will cover

• Legislation
• Risk assessment
• Equipment
• PPE
• Branch walking

Course Objectives

• To be aware of legislation and safety guidelines pertaining to tree climbing
• Compliance with the legal requirements for inspection, record keeping, storage and transportation of equipment
• To identify and establish secure anchor points
• To be competent in climbing and rescue techniques
• To be able to use ropes, prusiks and karabiners
• To be able to perform aerial rescue in a safe and efficient manner

Assessment takes place on a separate day
